Career Opportunities | Complections International Academy of Make-up Artistry Career Opportunities Make-up artistry is an exciting and rewarding career. Every face on a stage, television or film screen, in a photograph, magazine, billboard or postcard is created by a make-up artist. Whether a special event or a special effect, a make-up artist enhances beauty, makes dreams realities, and brings imagination to life. Time Magazine recently named "Make-up Artist" one of their 'Top 10 Fastest Growing Jobs' for 2009. (Source: US Labour Board/Time Magazine, Dec. 22nd, 2008) Film and Television In the fields of film and television, the artist works in tandem with a creative team including hair and wardrobe designers to bring the writer’s story to life, and to realize the director’s artistic vision or production design. Working in film and television includes music videos, television programs and series, movies of the week, commercials, documentaries, major motion pictures, independent film, and reality TV. Fashion Runway, Magazines and Print Work The fashion make-up artist is part of a creative team that consists of designers, stylists, editors, photographers and choreographers. Working with a designer, you would be an integral member contributing to developing a creative concept, whether it be for a fashion runway event, a magazine spread or advertising shoot for a corporate product or services promotion.
